Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recent studies have demonstrated that people recognize facial expression not only by its morphological feature but also by peripheral information : what context the expression was shown, emotional signals other than facial expression, such as gesture, perceivers' affective state and so forth. The aim of the current article is reviewing the progress of research on the influence of peripheral information on facial expression recognition and showing prospects for future research.
