On the Emotion and Psychological Measurements based on Fractal Analyses of EEG Signals

Abstract(in English) Variety of transfer schemes such as vehicle, train, and so on exist for the transportation in the world wide logistics. Although according to the technological progress, the traffic accidents have a tendency to decrease, those caused by human errors have not vanished to date. In recent years it has been focused to analyze an accident caused by human errors, experiments or studies on transitions between psychological states of human beings during driving in terms of biological information such as heart pulse, EMG and so on. On the other hand, we shall propose herewith a novel method to quantitatively evaluate a certain psychological information of a driver from a human electroencephalogram (EEG) by means of the fractal analyses. With this method, it becomes possible to quantify a psychological state of human depending on time. In addition we shall measure several kinds of psychological states of human beings with a driving simulator, and succeeded to analyze a time-dependent psychological state according to driving conditions by on the basis of the present method.
