Abstract(in English) It is quite important to grasp understanding of students in the lecture in order to feed back to lecture style. In addition, it is difficult to maintain concentration of the students to the lecture if it is composed with only explanation. The personal response system (PRS) is developed to get responses for questions from students. This system has been recently used in the lecture and its effectiveness is reported. But some problems are existed including cost and functions and so on. This report describes the PRS we developed by using cell phones as a response device that are possessed by each students. The reasons of selecting cell phones, system configuration and system functions are shown. The functions and effectiveness of the developed system is confirmed by the trial applied to the small lecture group.
