Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The deaf or hard of hearing children who lives in detached islands had the opportunity of remote communication with same grade children in other islands, teachers of school for the deaf and deaf college students. We considered the validity of a teleconference system, and the influence of remote communication to children. The following was shown through this activity. 1) Especially the students need to be conscious about a shift of a speaker and a hearer at a teleconference. This consciousness may contribute to an improvement of their communications skills. 2) It is necessary to use written language in the limited communication setting. The students were able to study the technique to write down keywords or sentences effectively in communication.
