Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In wireless sensor networks, as the resources of sensor nodes are limited, it is difficult to provide high-speed communications. As the packets forwarded from sensor nodes converge on nodes around a cluster head or a sink node, it is a critical issue to transmit data efficiently and to improve the throughput. Paying attention to affinities of data transmitted from sensor nodes, and mechanism of communications failure due to communications environment, we discuss in this paper a scheme to integrate packets and to merge the common part of them, and to compresses the packet to make the size smaller. In addition, the scheme dynamically adjusts the packet size according to the conditions of wireless communications to achieve high efficient transmission, resulting in high throughput. We show experimental results on the performance of data integration and compression, and on the throughput of wireless communications by computer simulation.
