Abstract(in English) | In this paper, we present brief introduction of OpenFlow technology, which has been seen as one of promising technologies towards Future Internet, and introduce its application to mobile networks. One of the technical features of OpenFlow technology is the separation of control-plane and data-plane of switches/routers, namely, switches/routers exclude control functions such as routing protocols and they are controlled by external controller(s), which may be centralized or distributed. Te control among switches and controllers is commanded via ''flow'', which may be defined as an arbitral combination of arbitral header parts at arbitral layers, and thus the operations of the switches are very flexibly programmed at the controller. Recenily, GENI initiative funded by National Science Foundation of United States has started their OpenFlow trial program to deliver OpenFlow switches to a number of universities and construct a nation wide testbed for Future Internet. The universities will run a number of experiments including network virtualization, programmable network and advanced mobility. In this paper, we fist introduce brief introduction of OpenFlow technology and activities at United States. Then we introduce advanced mobility scheme using OpenFlow technology. We especially focus on seamless mobility between WiFi and WiMAX accesses. |
