Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Characteristics of human footstep are determined by the gait, the footwear and the floor environment. We can often understand the pedestrian and its walking state from the footstep in the limited condition. If various characteristics are extracted from footsteps correctly, the footstep analysis is applicable for various surveillance systems. Techniques for the personal identification from footsteps and its feasibility have been reported. However, the estimation of the number of pedestrian using footstep has not been discussed enough. Moreover, a subjective evaluation is not yet tried for a footstep analysis. This paper provides the subjective evaluation to specify the relationship between the footstep and the number of pedestrian.
