Abstract(in English) This paper deals with system level and RTL design of backward compatible Gigabit WLAN system. The proposed mixed format preamble ensures backward compatibility with 802.11a/n systems operated in 5 GHz band which is required by IEEE 802.11TGac. A novel phase rotation configuration in the proposed preamble yields lower PAPR signal than 802.11n preamble. Computer simulation under residential channel model B of IEEE 802.11TGn demonstrates satisfactory backward compatibility performance of the proposed system with sufficient low BER. Lastly, a 4x5 Gigabit WLAN physical layer RTL design result is also shown.
