Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Switching type processing is effective to restore the digital images corrupted by impulse noise. In the processing, filtering is only applied to the pixels detected as noise. For example, median, average, and directional difference were used for the filtering so far. In the previous report we have proposed a new type filtering process which is based on local similarity of an input image. Although the method has been only for monochrome images, in this report, we apply it to color image processing. Experimental results show that effectiveness of vector processing rather than applying the filter to each RGB component.
