Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In usual color-to-monochrome transformation, lightness components of each pixel are used for gray-level. In such transformation, however, colors different in hue or chroma but same in lightness are converted to a same gray-level when their lightness are identical. Gooch et al. proposed the color-to-monochrome transformation algorithm Color2Gray which can obtain a monochrome image reflecting difference of colors in an input image. Angle parameter, that is one of three parameters of Color2Gray, is discussed in this report. Moreover, we propose the automatically tuning method of the angle parameter for each input image. Experiments illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
