Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) ε-filter is a nonlinear smoothing filter to reduce the superimposed noise on a signal. The tuning of smoothing parameter by an input signal is needed to produce a good reconstructed one. The difference between the input and the reconstructed signals is regarded as a noise component. If the similarity between the estimated noise distribution and the assumed noise distribution model is high, a good reconstructed signal can be given. In the propose method, the similarity is calculated by Hellinger distance, and the smoothing parameter is tuned based on it.
