Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | ICTs produce CO2 emissions due to consumption of electrical power to operate equipment/systems. Therefore the efforts to reduce electrical power consumption in ICT usage and to save resources in ICT equipment are very important, that is shown by "Green of ICT". On the other hand, ICT usage can contribute to a reduction in CO2 emissions due to a marked improvement in the efficiency of production, consumption, and business, also that of traffic alternatives, and a reduction in traffic volume, that is shown by "Green by ICT". This paper introduces the R&D activities on both of "Green of ICT" and "Green by ICT" contributing to the solution of the global warming issue with changing our lifestyle by using ICT. |
