Implementation and Evaluation of Large-scale Quality Measurement System

Abstract(in English) We report evaluated results of large-scale quality measurement system using packet sampling technique. Recently, the flow-based measurement technique has attracted attentions which have four steps of Collection, Optimization, Transportation and Analyzation. Then, the role and the load of each processing must be appropriately distributed for large-scale system. We have proposed system, Collection) packet sampling technique, Optimization) duplicated ACK accounting technique using bloom filter, Transportation) IPFIX format and Analyzation) maximum likelihood estimator. In this paper, after implementing we report the results of the estimated precision with limitation on the memory size and moreover after evaluating scalability we clarified simultaneously measurable number of flows. As a result, we confirmed precise estimation is possible even with realistic memory size and much larger flow measurements are possible than with conventional systems.
