Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we investigated the differences in driving behaviors at unsignalized intersections between expert and nonexpert drivers. By analysing the real-world driving data, significant differences were found especially in gas and brake pedal operations when entering intersections with stop lines, poor visibility, or obstructions. We proposed driver models for estimating the pedal operations before entering unsignalized intersections using Bayesian networks. About 75% of pedal operations of expert drivers could be estimated with the proposed models. Risky driving behaviors were detected based on the likelihood for the expert driver model with over 71% accuracy.
