Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Video editing is generally realized by arranging video segments selected from raw videos. Our aim is to assist general users in editing home videos based on a professionally edited example video. The proposed method firstly represents each shot constituting the example video by a symbol based on the image features. Secondly, after dividing home videos into segments based on their camerawork, each segment is assessed by two criteria: the suitablity to the symbols and the perceived quality related to particular characteristics of home videos such as camera shaking. Presenting the symbol sequence generated from the example video and the segments according to their temporal position, suitability to the symbols, and the perceived quality on the interface can assist users in selecting and arranging segments in video editing.
