Abstract(in English) We classified news articles into two groups from the point of view of the temporal property. The first one included unexpected events such as accidents or troubles. The second one included periodical incidents such as annual events. We should take into account the periodicity of incidents in order to retrieve articles efficiently in the second group. We constructed an experimental retrieval system in order to confirm the relationship between searching methods and searching efficiencies. It employed two searching techniques; conventional ranking style and calendar year style. Experimental result suggests that the calendar year searching for periodic events has advantages of the information acquisition time and the operation comfortableness.
