Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We proposed a novel framework of Ambient Memories, which is provided by a pervasive or ambient media system that record human activities. In this paper, we discuss its mechanism for supporting human activities such as cooking, examine the functions required for the framework, and propose its realization. We chose a kitchen as an acutual place, and assumed cooking assistance by ambient memories. In this situation, several important functions are required: information display adaptive to the user's state, data selection based on users intention or needs, an interface for adding annotations. In our experiments, we implemented an ambient memory system to a kitchen, and install the above functions, then evaluated the performance of the system. The results show the good potential of our framework.
