Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a novel museum guide system using video see-through augmented reality (AR). The proposed system has a 30-inch touch panel display and a rear video camera to display the image of behind the system with guidance information about displayed exhibits. Visitors can rotate the system around vertical axis to watch almost all of the exhibition room, and interactively learn not only real exhibits in exhibition room, but related items stored in the museum warehouse or events at the time of the exhibits produced. This system was set up in the historical home appliances exhibition room in Toshiba Science Museum on experiment.
