Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | We have developed a 3DCG animation system for classical ballet solo dances, named "Virtual Dance Theatre," using Web3D technologies and motion data. The motion data were recorded by a motion capture system from real performances of professional ballet dancers. This system allows a user to interactively control dance animation and change the viewpoint in three-dimensional computer graphics. The system could be promising in the future for (1) recording dances, (2) learning dances, (3) studying dance in general, and (4) appreciating or enjoying watching dances. The results of a questionnaire given to experts of ballet confirm that this system is more useful than conventional video shooting. |
