Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Stamina is considered necessary not only for physical exercises but also intelligent activities such as language use in our daily lives. Reading a foreign language strains our brains cognitively more than reading our mother tongue. Extensive reading in a foreign language is thought to nurture Reading Stamina, which may be an indispensable element of reading and the infrastructure of intelligence. In this paper Reading Stamina, which will be re-examined as one of components of Intelligence Stamina, will be introduced and examined as a reservoir of intelligence that will sustain the reading activities.
