Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper evaluates a performance of sound source separation and localization for active multi-media processing in ultra-realistic telework systems. An ultra-realistic telework system provides remote office environments where users feel close together, even though they are in distant places, and utilizes active multi-media processing that allows users to experience natural ROI(Region of Interest)control. In order to realize the active multi-media processing, a preliminary performance of sound separation and localization is evaluated using an ultra-realistic telework terminal being equipped with 3 displays and 24 speakers. The evaluation test results show that SIR(Signal-to-Interference Ratio)of 12 dB in sound source separation is at least necessary for adequate sound localization.
