Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this research, MMSE STSA estimator with ICA-based noise estimation is applied to the binaural hearing aid system. Our previous research has shown that the MMSE STSA estimator can extract target speech with high accuracy under nonstationary and non-point-source noise conditions, which promises human hearing applications. In this paper, hence, the efficacy of the MMSE STSA estimation method for binaural hearing aid is investigated. We conduct experiments to evaluate performances on the noise reduction, the sound distortion, and the perceptual localization using real-recorded head related transfer functions and environmental noises. Compared with the conventional ICA, the proposed method is superior regarding both noise reduction and sound localization abilities.
