Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this research, we propose a "know-how retrieval" technique to collect know-how information related to a specific theme efficiently. General search engines always return huge number of Web documents for user's query. That is not considerable when the query is a type of finding an answer, such as "Altitude of Mt. Fuji", because the user is able to be satisfied with the result by browsing only several high-ranked Web pages. On the other hand, when the query is a type of collecting various know-how, such as "How to make curry delicious", the user has to browse Web pages as many as possible. In method of browsing the Web pages one by one to collect information widely, there is a limit in the point of time and effort. In this paper, we propose a technique to support users to collect of know-how widely by a little effort as much as possible. Specifically, our technique extracts know-how words, which relate to know-how, based on a conceptual relation of words and appearance frequency of words. Our technique also presents preferentially Web documents that include unread know-how information. In our evaluation, we showed that many know-how words were able to be extracted by using conceptual relation, and that our retrieval result showed that know-how was able to be browsed more efficiently than a general retrieval result by presenting unread know-how preferentially.
