Abstract(in English) | Single-carrier frequency-division multiple-access (SC-FDMA), which can multiplex multiple users orthogonally by allocating different frequency spectrum to each user, is attracting attention. Interleaved frequency-division multiple-access (IFDMA) that allocates comb-like orthogonal subcarriers to each user, is a special kind of SC-FDMA. Frequency domain equalization (FDE) is an effective technology to compensate the spectrum distortion incurred by frequency selective channel. Accurate channel estimation is important for FDE. Decision directed channel estimation (DDCE) whose tracking ability is good, is effective in the case of time varying fading channel. In IFDMA, the amplitude of each subcarrier may fluctuate based on the combination of data symbol sequence, and the accuracy of DDCE at the subcarrier whose power is extremely low degrades. In literature, a method that makes IFDMA subcarriers1 power flat by multiplying random phase sequence to the information data sequence has been proposed. In that method, random phase sequence is selected to achieve the minimum variance of subcarrier power among the multiple random sequences. However, a few extremely low power subcarrier may happen to exist in the scheme, and the accuracy of DDCE may degrade. In this report, we propose a new phase sequence selection method which selects the sequence so that the number of subcarriers whose power is lower than a certain value is smallest. The bit error rate (BER) performance of the proposed method is evaluated by computer simulation, and the results show the proposed method can improve the BER performance ofDDCE compared to the conventional one. |
