Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper investigates the admission control problem for the secondary users in cognitive radio (CR) networks. Specifically, we try to find the optimal channel access probability for the secondary users to maximize channel utilization while the quality of service (QoS) requirements of both the primary users and the secondary users are maintained. Intuitively, a larger access probability for the secondary users can increase channel utilization. However, because miss detection exists, a larger access probability will degrade the QoS performance of the primary users due to much more interference from the secondary users. Furthermore, a larger access probability also degrades the QoS performance of the secondary users due to much more contention among the secondary users. In order to find the best access probability, we formulate this issue as an optimization problem. The analytical results show the optimal access probability under various miss detection and false alarm probabilities and provide useful insight on the tradeoff between channel utilization and the QoS performance of both the primary users and the secondary
