Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the next generation high-speed wireless communication systems, joint channel equalization using the same channel state information (CSI) at both transmitter and receiver is promising. Recently, we proposed a joint transmit/receive frequency-domain equalization (FDE) based on the minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion for broadband single-carrier (SC) signal transmissions in a severe frequency-selective fading channel. To further improve the transmission performance, the use of inter-symbol interference (ISI) technique is effective. In this paper, we apply an iterative ISI cancellation to the SC transmission using the joint transmit/receive MMSE-FDE. We derive a transmit FDE weight which takes the ISI cancellation performed at the receiver into account. We show by computer simulation that the achievable bit error rate (BER) can be significantly improved by using the derived transmit weight.
