Abstract(in English) | This paper presents a suitable design as turbo encoder for a spectrum-overlapped resource management (SORM) by using EXIT (Extrinsic Information Transfer) analysis. In the SORM, since each user's spectrum is allowed to overlap with the other users' spectra, users are allocated to an arbitrary frequency positions having good channel conditions. The overlapped spectra are detected by a turbo equalizer which is applied as the receiver algorithm. Therefore, if iteration of the turbo equalizer successfully converges, inter-symbol interference (ISI) and inter-user interference (IUI) are completely canceled. However, at the first iteration, SINR (Signal to Interference and Noise Ratio) is low because of influencing these interferences. On the other hand, since turbo codes are optimized in the AWGN channel, error correction hardly work while SINR is lower than correctable SINR. Therefore, a turbo equalizer becomes poorer convergence property due to mismatch turbo decoder and equalizer while equalizer outputs low SINR caused by IUI such as the SORM. Consequently, the performance degrades in the case of using higher coding rate. This paper proposes turbo code with non-identical component encoder for turbo equalizer. We decide constraint length of component encoder according to its EXIT characteristic for improving convergence property and show that proposal turbo code in the SORM improves transmission performance in the higher coding rate. |
