Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Distributed antenna network (DAN) which uses a number of antennas distributed geographically can mitigate the adverse effects of the path and shadowing losses as well as frequency-selective fading. Transmit antenna diversity can improve significantly the transmission performance. In this paper, we consider space-time block coded-joint transmit/receive diversity (STBC-JTRD) for the single-carrier (SC) DAN downlink in a frequency-selective channel. STBC-JTRD can use as many distributed antennas as possible while limiting the number of receive antennas. We investigate, by computer simulation, the spatial distribution of bit error rate (BER) achievable by frequency-domain STBC-JTRD and discuss the impact of the number of transmit/receive antennas and propagation paths.
