| Abstract(in English) | In MIMO-OFDM mobile communications using precoding schemes, channel state information (CSI) should be fed back from mobile stations (MSs) to base stations (BSs). This report proposes an analog feedback scheme that requires less OFDM symbols for the feedback by sending CSI in a form of analog signals. In contrast with a conventional analog feedback scheme, the proposed scheme sends estimated channel frequency responses (i) not in a linear combination form. In addition, (ii) a log compression technique of CSI is introduced to improve robustness against noise, and (iii) estimated signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR), which some precoding schemes require, is fed back. In the proposed scheme, BS estimates impulse responses of the uplink channel using pilot signals under the minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion. Then, the MMSE estimation at BS obtains both impulse responses and SNR of the down link channel from the estimated uplink channel responses and feedback signals. Computer simulations of 2 × 2 MIMO-OFDM under a multipath fading condition are conducted to evaluate effectiveness of the proposed scheme, and show that the proposed scheme can drastically reduce errors of CSI in comparison with the conventional feedback scheme. |
