Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a new adaptive transmission-scheme control of Tomlinson Harashima Precoding (THP) on downlink (DL) Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output (DL MU-MIMO) systems. MU-MIMO THP multiplexes Mobile Terminals (MT) to provide high performance even under low orthogonal channel. Modulo-operations suppress transmission power on canceling the Multi-User Interference (MUI), but at the same time, the Modulo-operations cause the secondary effects of performance degradations. On the other hand, the Linear Precoding (LP) scheme, without any Modulo-operation, avoids the degradation and achieves the sufficient performance under highly orthogonal channel. The proposed scheme implements Modulo-operation for the MTs suffering strong MUI and skips Modulo-operation for the MTs facing no strong MUI. This paper describes these adaptive switching of Modulo-operation and proves the gain of 3.8 dB from MU-MIMO LP and 0.7 dB from MU-MIMO THP on the bit error performance with computer simulations.
