Abstract(in English) In this paper, channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) structures for CSI measurement in the LTE-Advanced downlink are investigated. In the LTE-Advanced downlink, transmission techniques such as higher-order single-user (SU)-MIMO, multi-user (MU)-MIMO, and coordinated multi-point transmission and reception (CoMP) are necessary to satisfy high-level performance requirements. At the 3GPP RAN WG1 meeting, user-specific reference signal (US-RS) for data demodulation was defined to support up to eight transmission layers. Furthermore, low-density CSI-RS was also defined to measure CSI for up to eight transmission antennas. In this paper, to obtain the optimum CSI-RS structure, we compare various CSI-RS structures from the viewpoints of the signal to interference plus noise power ratio (SINR) and the throughput performance in the LTE-Advanced downlink.
