A Study on Highly Reliable Wireless Communications using DS-UWB

Abstract(in English) Low-rate, but highly reliable data transmission is an important feature in wireless communications for application of medical treatment, healthcare usage, and a control of industrial equipment etc. In this paper, we discuss the use of DS-UWB (direct sequence ultra wideband) technology toward highly reliable wireless communications. BPM-BPSK/DS-UWB standardized by IEEE802.15.4a is considered as an example of DS-UWB. The error rate performance of BPM-BPSK/DS-UWB system is evaluated in multipath fading channel when the effect of antenna-diversity and the forward error correction are considered.
