Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, the VoIP capacity with semi persistent scheduling and sub-frame bundling is evaluated in the Long-Term Evolution (LTE) uplink. In sub-frame bundling operation, uplink VoIP performance especially in a coverage-limited scenario can be enhanced by transmitting four consecutive sub-frames for a single VoIP packet. However, performance degradation in terms of VoIP capacity might possibly be caused by this operation, unless the sub-frame bundling is properly applied only for users having large propagation loss. Therefore, in this paper, we evaluate the VoIP capacity in multi cell environment with Inter-Site Distance (ISD) of 500 and 1732 (m) by system-level simulation. Evaluation results show that sub-frame bundling can enhance VoIP capacity for relatively large cell environment, such as ISD of 1732 (m), and also show that 160 UEs can be accommodated in each cell assuming a 5-MHz bandwidth.
