Abstract(in English) In this paper, for co-channel heterogeneous networks where low power nodes (Pico eNodeBs) are placed into a macro-cell system which consists of high power nodes (Macro eNodeBs), we study serving cell selection and uplink ICIC (Inter-cell Interference Coordination) based on the current LTE (Long-Term Evolution) specification and evaluate performance using system level simulation. Simulation results indicate that effective use of resources with significant interference from macro-UEs to Pico eNodeB, improvement of Pico-UE throughput degraded due to interference avoidance for Macro-cell edge UEs, and adaptive interference management corresponding to a variation of serving cell selection criterion should be studied.
