Network Assisted Downlink Interference Mitigation Methods for Home Base Station in LTE-Advanced

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes two network assisted downlink interference mitigation methods for home base station, called HeNB (Home eNodeB), whose methods are performed based on the network signaling between HeNB and macro cell base station, called MeNB (Macro eNodeB) and mitigate interference from HeNB to neighbor UEs (User Equipments) served by MeNB (referred as MUE) in LTE (Long Term Evolution)-Advanced. The proposed network assisted methods consist of TPC (Transmission Power Control) based method and band reservation method. The results of system level simulation show that the band reservation method has higher interference mitigation performance with smaller impact to the performance of UEs served by the HeNB (referred as HUE) than the TPC based method. It is also shown that the proposed network assisted methods are robust to network delay.
