Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Yuen 2000 protocol (Y-00) designed by intensity modulation has advantages over phase modulated Y-00. However, it has been pointed out that security level of intensity modulated Y-00 is not the same level as that of phase modulated Y-00 due to unequal power distribution of optical signals. Randomization is necessary to overcome this weakness but there is no clear evaluation on its effects. In this report, the randomization effects are evaluated with security evaluation parameter Q under the condition where an eavesdropper is assumed to employ direct measurement. Specifically, channel matrices with and without randomization were obtained by numerical calculation and the quantum fluctuation width Γ is estimated for the two cases. As a result, it is shown that randomization, if applied to intensity modulated Y-00, is very effective to achieve the similar security level of phase modulated Y-00.
