Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) CuAlS_2:Mn shows a pure red luminescence and has a relatively strong excitatin band in the near-UV wavelength range. The phosphor also shows a slight temperature quenching, therefore it is expected as a proposing red phosphor for near-UV LED excitation. In this study, it has been found that photoluminescence (PL) intensity is significantly improved by Mg codoping, which is thought to act as both charge compensator for Mn^<2+> luminescent centers and relaxation of a lattice destortion induced by Mn incorporatin into CuAlS_2 lattice. Considering a charge compensation system, (Cu,Mg)(Al,Si)S_2:Mn is a proper composition, in which about three times higher PL intensity has been obtained under near-UV excitation compared to only Si codoped CuAlS_2:Mn.
