Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We proposed simple and non-destructive characterization method called 45°-angled cut method. The proposed method could be used for propagation loss measurement of the optical waveguides. By applying this method, we obtained propagation loss of the optical waveguides faster compare to the existing methods. The 45°-angled cut method also offers good reproducibility experimental results without destroying the chips. The results are as accurate as conventional cut-back method.
