Abstract(in English) This paper presents an intruder-detection algorithm by wide-area perimeter surveillance sensor with LCX(Leaky Coaxial Cables). The LCX sensor is able to detect fluctuations of the electric field induced by the motion in LCX sensing area. However, the electric field fluctuations with the wind and rain also have patterns with similar characteristics. It is difficult to achieve good detection performance only from the strength of the fluctuations. Therefore, we introduce new classifying features using LCX signal, some of which represent the motion of intruder objects well, the other of which represents signal fluctuations induced by the wind and rain. In this paper, we present the LCX signal features and the intruder detection algorithm with LCX signal features, show the detection performance by off-line simulation.
