Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The network GPS is an alternative to RTK-GPS to alleviate its shortcomings. The major network GPS systems are VRS and FKP. But the particulars of neither method are disclosed. This paper reports on the result of an experiment to see whether these two methods are virtually equivalent in terms of practical use in terrain surveying. A GPS network comprising five stations is set in Fukuyama University, and they are positioned by usual static GPS. Then two additional stations are augmented close to every five stations, making 15 points in totality. These stations are simultaneously positioned by FKP, VRS and RTK to compare the precision. Furthermore ground points by a building or under a tree are also positioned with rovers of the three systems. The result shows that these two systems are equivalent in precision and in stability.
