Abstract(in English) Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) is developed as a satellite system of positioning in specified regions of Japan from high elevation angle. Purposes of the satellite positioning system using Quasi-Zenith satellite (QZS) are to complement and augment the GPS. The national institutes concerned have been developing the satellite positioning system using QZS since 2003 and will carry out experiments and researches. In this system, National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) is mainly in charge of timing system for the satellite positioning system using QZS, such as onboard precise time management system of the QZSS. This paper describes development status and experimental plan of time management system of satellite positioning system using QZSS.
