Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is well known that the problem of multipath propagation arises in the context of tracking low-altitude targets with a radar and causes large bias error in the estimated altitude of the target. A conventional tracking algorithm is able to eliminate a large peak error but is not able to eliminate a constant bias error over the sea. This paper proposes an altitude estimation method using multipath propagation model. Our method uses the reliability of each altitude hypothesis based on multipath propagation model to estimate the altitude of targets. Through computer simulation trials, the validity of our method is examined.
