Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As processor-speed increases, high-speed signal-propagation in the PCB traces following the processor-speed is also required. High signal integrity in the PCB traces however cannot be ensured under the usual impedance-matching techniques in the GHz-era. In order to overcome this difficulty, we have proposed a novel transmission line named "Segmental Transmission Line (STL)", and have already shown its effectiveness with the computer simulations and its fundamental prototype. In this paper, we evaluate waveform-improvement capability of the STL against the critical cases of logical-margin-decrease and delay-time-increase using computer simulation and prototype evaluations.
