Abstract(in English) | Optical Transceiver, the converting device of optical /electrical signal vice versa, is one of the key components used in the state-of-the-art data transport system such as optical routers and switches. As we know it today, data traffic on the network is increasing so significantly that improvement of the data throughput of these equipment becomes urgent need, without increasing the equipment size and power consumption. And because of that, high speed operation, smaller size and low power consumption are the 3 major requirements for the optical transceivers. There are several design challenges to cope with those cross request, among others, heat transfer design and its simulation technology play key role in the product development. In this report, we describe how we developed the practical simulation method by Computational Fluid Dynamics which showed good correlation to the real world. |
