Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The informed consent in a medical institution is indispensable. However, since a patient or his family has not adequate medical knowledge in general, it often occurs that a patient cannot fully understand explanation from a doctor. Therefore, measures are desired for patients in order to understand enough. For the purpose, we planned to construct an informed consent support system by using IT, especially computer graphics (CG). This time, a trial system for congenital heart diseases especially corrected transposition of the great arteries (corrected TGA) is constructed. Then, we have introduced 3-D animation for showing the operative procedure so that 3-D heart model can be observed from an arbitrary viewpoint. By using this method, it is expected that not only patients but also medical personnel can easily understand the 3-D heart structure and the blood flows along the operative procedure, and the method is useful for the informed consent support system. Moreover, it was evaluated by the questionnaire for doctors, nurses, and students whether the system was effective or not. |
