Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Researchers have long debated whether knowledge about the self is unique in terms of its functional anatomic representation within the human brain. This study examines whether the cognitive components of self-awareness can be dissociated using Event-related potential. Using visual stimulation that self- or other people's face imagings were randomly indicated, we found activation of the median parietal region, when subjects were stimulated only by one's face imaging.
