Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In All-IP network using IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) at the service stratum, service control method is able to use for switching and combining devices and media component used by a communication service such as IM (Instant Messaging), VoIP (Voice over IP) and video telephony, according to the user's demand with the minimal interruption to the ongoing communication service. In such the service control method, not only SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is required for controlling the media session between the devices in the communication service, but also the authentication functionality for the devices and the discovery functionality of session status, available devices and its capability are necessary. This report introduces a service control method designed in our project called CAST (Converged communications and Advanced IMS/MMD Service and Technology) and it applications to other types of communication services such as file sharing and VOD (Video On Demand) service. We also report related standardization works for the service control method in IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) and 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project).
