Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The flooding is a method to deliver messages to the whole ad hoc network. However, the flooding generates a large number of redundant messages in the case that messages are generated at high rate. To solve this problem, we have proposed two novel load-aware flooding methods for streaming. In these methods, a node decides whether to rebroadcast or not based on MAC transmission queue information at the node. We have shown the method can ensure high message reachability and reduction of redundant rebroadcast by network simulation. Since nodes over ad hoc networks are usually limited battery driven, reducing power consumption is highly important issue. In this study, we compare the message reachability and the amount of message transmission/reception of our proposal with conventional simple flooding. The result shows our proposal can reduce traffic and power consumption.
