| Abstract(in English) | Language services provided by or registered to the Language Grid are classified into one of the predefined language service types, and can be employed through accordingly defined APIs. More than sixty actual Web services have been provided by the infrastructure, and the number is expected to further increase. In order to properly accommodate these services of various types, it is required to establish a principled way to organize them. Given this situation, this paper argues that a kind of ontological knowledge that backs up classification and definition of the services, including their APIs, has to be organized. In addition, this paper discusses role of the international standards associated with linguistic data and language resources. These standards should be highly appreciated not only for securing so-called interoperability, but also for characterizing some types of the language services. This paper further describes some experimental Web services whose results are represented in XML documents that are compliant with particular ISO standards : LAF/GrAF for syntactic dependency, and LMF for conceptual lexicon. |
