Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Natural Disaster Youth Summit is a cross-cultural collaboration project promoted by JEARN. They are working on collaborative learning about disaster prevention by using disaster safety map and intercultural communication over Internet. Language barrier is the biggest difficulty on this activity, and in order to communicate in native language, linguistic support, such as machine translation, is necessary. In this work, we developed CoSMOS, a cross-cultural collaboration system using disaster safety map and machine translation, and we discuss collaboration support using CoSMOS.
